chakap lah

the sun lingers a little longer in shah alam, and everything is suspended in their brightest colors. the crescent moons atop each spire of the turquoise mosque shine as if it were their light to give. the naseh goreng is heavy in my belly and the chili is still biting my tongue. i miss the soft sheets and fluffy pillows of Hilton in Petaling Jaya. Concorde fails in comparison but the night is going to be beautiful, i can almost forget i haven't heard from my moi in days.

last night, i fell in love with the Petronas in kuala lumpur. it's amazing how something so familiar can still be surprisingly breathtaking, as if i've had no knowledge of its being before.

i remember a friend once told me that it is moments like this, having a hotel room to yourself, a beautiful city glittering outside your window, that heightens solitude. it's amazing how he is so right.

the night is going to beautiful.

envy is not green. it is iridescent, like the sun i'm sure you were dancing under. i am just envious.

my dear mussolini, i really tried to find you a mahathir shirt, even frown back and be bitchier than the veiled muslims and risk being cursed by the indians, but alas, my friend no mahathir. i got you several coins (not antique but in time, they would be, promise. hehehe), TGIF's placemat (with prices in RM) and a pashmina (not sure if authentic, you know how chinese goods are).

trans, you'd so love the indian subculture here. all those trinkets! just bring some moolah though.

jax, i'm sure you've had your share of such moments.

I still recall like it was yesterday, the time I spent the night at the Westin. I was listening to Astrud Gilberto while observing the whole stretch of Roxas Blvd past midnight while it was still well-lighted. It was like being in Brazil I suppose. Ü
