i wish i were lazy
under the shade of trees
a few feet away, cars are passing by us
we sit with bottles of beer sweating in the humid air
you hum reggae. i, rock and roll
we’ve been doing this twenty years
waiting all our lives to get on the speedwagon of dreams
pretend-believing we can get there somehow
in the haze of lazy afternoons, amidst the riot of bugs and smoke

you are born everything but lazy.
sometimes it seems dreams are all i have
It's been too long..
this moment seems oddly familiar. i've witnessed it so many times.
i don't have to wish i were lazy. I really am.
updates, please. or are you too lazy?
"Pretend-believing and the speedwagon of dreams" What a cool image!
I think it must be the summer heat and the morning blankets on winter days that keep us from the real ride that shiny red radioflyer represents.
peace
like, zoinks, you gonna leave us hanging?
